Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with gospel, soul music, and R&B. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe. She has also performed at her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates from Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing and playing piano in churches. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals,"Stalk You a House 12, was only released in Japan. The song has been remixed numerous times and is the mainstay of her live shows. She has also contributed her voice to the music of The Fighting Temptations. The year 2005 saw Tyler Perry hired her as his primary keyboardist for his stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the choir leader of this theatrical production. Sunshine received national attention during her four daily performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2008 inauguration.
